Infusion Pump
Where precision engineering cannot be compromised

A major, global medical device manufacturer developing an advanced ambulatory infusion pump (Class III medical device) partnered with PSI to create a user interface (UI) that would seamlessly bridge clinical oversight with at-home patient care. The device, designed to run on battery power and operate in both clinical and non-clinical environments, required an intuitive yet robust UI to ensure ease of use, patient safety, and reliable data access. PSI was engaged to design and develop a user-focused application that would enable clinicians to manage infusion therapy with confidence — even when the patient was beyond the hospital’s walls.
PSI developed a custom UI application that allows the embedded device to interface with a comprehensive drug library containing infusion recipes and dosage parameters. The application enables clinicians to program and verify complex infusion protocols tailored to individual patients, minimizing errors and streamlining setup. Additionally, the UI allows medical staff to review patient-specific data and infusion history, providing a clear, real-time snapshot of therapy performance and patient adherence — a critical capability for remote monitoring and follow-up care.
By combining user-centered design with deep experience in embedded medical software, PSI delivered a solution that enhanced both clinician workflow and patient independence. The infusion pump’s UI was engineered for reliability, clarity, and compliance, meeting the rigorous standards required for medical devices used outside traditional care settings. PSI’s contribution helped the client accelerate product
