HELICOPTER TEST DIAGNOSTIC – ROTOR AZIMUTH PROCESSOR

The Rotor Azimuth Processor (RAP) was designed to meet the needs of older slower rotor aircraft as well as newer high-speed rotor aircraft. It provides the user with a configurable and flexible product providing a Data Acquisition System (DAS) with real-time rotor information. It is engineered to meet the demands of modern high rate, real-time data acquisition providing rotor azimuth position within one-half degree with an update rate of 200 microseconds. The RAP is designed for use with existing helicopter tachometer signals to measure main rotor azimuth position, tail rotor azimuth position and main rotor speed. It converts tachometer pulses per second to percent rotor speed.

The Rotor Azimuth Processor (RAP) includes all circuitry to autonomously compute main rotor (MR) azimuth, tail rotor (TR) azimuth and Main rotor speed percentage using several configurable parameters; Tachometer Frequency @ 100% Rotor Speed, Main Rotor Speed (RPM) and Tail rotor Gear Ratio.
