Targeting System
An optical device manufacturer for law enforcement and the military was building a product in order to gain acceptance in the military community under a tight budget and increasing government restrictions. PSI was asked to integrate a laser range finder, a digital compass, and GPS into a military device for marking coordinates. PSI worked with the company effectively and efficiently to report the range and accuracy. A 800×600 micro display was integrated in the eyepiece which communicated laser range information simply and in an easily accessible manner. The range finder, digital compass, and GPS were integrated with an OLED display and a keypad for menu control and item selection. The project was completed on time, on target, and on budget, with the final product meeting and exceeding all expectations. Both the customer and government contacts were pleased with the product.
