Ophthalmologic Measurement Device

OPHTHALMOLOGIC MEASUREMENT DEVICE

A company specializing in ultrasound pachymetry hired a different company to develop an A-scan ultrasound biometry that utilizes an ultrasound device for diagnostic testing of the eye. When they couldn’t complete the job, PSI was asked to take over. The A-scan needed to determine the length of the eye and assist in diagnosing common sight disorders along diagnosing and measuring masses in the eyes. A-scans are also extremely beneficial in cataract surgeries by determining the power of the intraocular lens needed for the artificial implant. The system designed controls the ultrasonic transducer, analyzes the real-time digital waveform and interprets the result applying mathematical algorithms and calculations to detect eye structures, derive measurements, and provide an indication of confidence level for each measurement.
