Motion Scripting system for Specialized Parts Manufacturing
A manufacturer of constant force springs had outdated microprocessors and custom outdated hardware paired with a lack of expertise in the software. PSI was commissioned to use modern technology with off the shelf parts and a custom software solution in order to make the system accessible for current workers. In addition, it needed to be able to be updated and use newer and more advanced parts when necessary. PSI was able to modernize the controls and equipment so the company could continue to use their current lathes in production. A PC application was developed that compiles script and uses TCP/IP to control a motion controller. The new software was programmed the same way that the employees were accustomed to, creating a cost effective solution that is very expandable and easy to use.
